🎸 A nugget "Crossover" (R&B / Rockabilly)
While the A-side is pure Jump Blues, the B-side has an "up-tempo" rhythm that has greatly influenced the early Rockabilly artists.

Collectors from Country-Rock and Early Rock'n'Roll are actively searching for this title because it shows the direct influence of black R&B on white artists of the time.
The title was successfully covered by country star Faron Young (under the title "If You Ain't Lovin'"), but the version of Bull Moose Jackson remains the most "muscular" original.

About the artist

Benjamin Clarence "Bull Moose" Jackson (1919–1989) was an American saxophonist and singer. He is famous for performing the first R&B single to have sold a million copies (I Love You, Yes I Do in 1947). His style blends the Jump Blues (a rhythmic and energetic blues) and romantic walks. He is also known for his songs with suggestive lyrics, a genre sometimes called "dirty blues".

💡 Anecdotes

A "Buffalo Bearcats" sound: His orchestra was famous for its powerful brass section. This title is a perfect example of the "King" sound of Cincinnati: hot, raw and made for dancing.
The label "Crown": The logo with the crown above the name "KING" is the emblem of the golden age of the label of Syd Nathan
